Sumizome brand “Sumizome Artisan Miyuki“
Sumi-zome textile designer Miyuki Hirao creates clothing and dresses using the world’s one and only hand-painted sumi-zome fabric.
Through the ancient Japanese ink art of sumizome, Hirao expresses the pride of the Japanese people, their dignified and quiet strength, and their culture of compassion for others.
The unique technique of blowing ink with the wind and the motif of tree roots with natural blotches symbolize the “invisible power” and “strength of life” that sustains us.
The works that contain this Japanese spirituality are brought to the world from Nara, a place with a long history.
We are transmitting a new form of sumi ink.

Cherishing the sense of security she felt from touching ink and the joy of having her mother make clothes for her since childhood, she started her activities as a clothing brand “S’amuser” in 2007.
By living abroad for six and a half years, he rediscovered the good qualities of Japan.
In 2018, fascinated by the beauty of sumi-zome, she began self-taught sumi-zome. Later, she met a dyeing artist, learned the basics, and pushed forward with her production.
In 2022, exhibited and sold as Sumizome brand “Sumizome Artisan Miyuki” at “JAPAN EXPO IN Paris 2022” in France.
In 2023, he exhibited his sumizome as a painting in “SALON ART SHOPPING PARIS” at the Carrousel Du Louvre.
