Sumizome Paintings Exhibited at Carrousel du Louvre
From October 21 to 23, 2023, we exhibited sumizome paintings at “ART SHOPPING PARIS” held at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Although I was not able to see the exhibition there, I was deeply moved by the pictures I saw of people deeply interested in the works and looking at them with great interest.
I exhibited two ink-dyed silk paintings. The theme of my sumizome work is “Root, a symbol of life force. I express the dynamic life force of roots, which breathe in the tranquil jet-black soil and move forward with suppleness and yet dignified strength, using sumi ink.
One of the exhibited works depicts a phoenix flying freely from within the root, and the other depicts the root itself swirling in the soil.
We will continue to strive for further improvement of expression in our creative activities.
