YOKOHAMA Arts Show Collection Vol.2 ─Souls Bound Together, Dancing Through Time─
October 13, 2025. The ‘YOKOHAMA Arts Show Collection Vol.2’ was held at Momijizaka Hall in Minato Mirai.
Following last year, we were honored to participate in this splendid stage once again as the “Sumizome Team.” This year’s theme was “Japanese Literature.” The subject given to us was the ‘Kokin Wakashū’—a collection imbued with timeless emotion.
From within it, we selected “love poems” and crafted costumes with an unprecedented expression. These garments infused Sumizome’s inherent strength with a touch of sweet yet poignant love.
A stage born of genuine passion, truly one of a kind
This time, we took on the challenge with 15 models gathered from both Kanto and Kansai.
Through even more meticulous rehearsals than last year, the team’s bond deepened like never before, from the dressing room to the wings. Each member wore Sumizome, their sincere gaze striving to embody the world of literature. That unity became the strongest foundation supporting the stage.
Personally, I felt as if I were witnessing a series of miracles, supported by some immense, unseen force. A fear so intense it made my body tremble, surpassed by overwhelming emotion. A rollercoaster of feelings—waves of gratitude and exhaustion crashing over me—it was an unprecedented, extraordinary time.
As an artist, pushing beyond boundaries
My family, who support me most closely, also rushed to the venue.
My sister remarked, “You’re carving away at your life.”
My husband asked, “Why push yourself so hard?”
When I paused to think calmly, a very simple answer came to mind.
“Because there’s a wall I want to overcome. I want to conquer it.”
I have something I truly want to do, and there are people who seek it out. Savoring this miraculous happiness, I reaffirmed that I truly enjoy the path of expression.
Toward dreams beyond, toward greater heights
The “future that far exceeds our dreams,” which we first glimpsed in our inaugural show, now unfolds before me with a profound and tangible presence.
My deepest gratitude goes to everyone who helped bring this magnificent stage to life, and to all those who watched over us with such warmth.
The Sumizome Team will never stand still; we will continue to evolve in pursuit of new horizons in expression. I truly look forward to the day we can once again share these deep emotions with you all.
