On June 11, 2025, at the “Wa no Wa” cultural exchange event held at the Osaka-Kansai Expo, 10 models wore sumi-zome costumes and graced the runway in the “Wa no Wa Kimono Show.”
The beauty of sumi ink painting created an elegant stage setting.
Although there were concerns about the weather on the day of the event, the show was held successfully in calm conditions with no strong winds. The costumes created by Sumizome Kōshō Miyuki blended traditional Japanese elements with modern designs, highlighting the individuality of the models. The unique beauty of each costume captivated the audience and created a cultural exchange venue befitting the theme of “The Circle of Japan.”
Thanks to everyone involved
The success of this event would not have been possible without the cooperation and efforts of many people. Once again, we would like to express our deepest gratitude.
This event was a wonderful opportunity to show how the fusion of traditional Japanese culture and art can breathe new life into the contemporary fashion scene. We hope that such cultural exchange events will continue to expand in the future.
